The adventures at PROTON

When life gets monotonous and when happenings lose spark all the world looks dull and vapid. Last three months have been quite exhausting. We have had two midterms, one end term, back to back classes and a lot of academic stuff. It was all looking mundane. We did try to add some tadka in it by organizing trip to waterpark, watching movies, satisfying taste buds at Chappan and many such other things but all these activities could only provide momentary relief and were not able to give internal contentment.
Then suddenly the Culture Committee turned roaring. And there was the announcement of the annual function of our college- UNISON. After postponing the event for 2 long months due to busy schedule, the culture guys finally prepared themselves to take the challenge of hosting such a mega event. I was very very enthusiastic since I could not participate in the Fresher’s event of our batch. I was terribly diseased then and was too disappointed to miss the action and fun. Then I was even unlucky to miss out performing in Thank God Its Friday. It was also a cultural event but I met an accident only a few days prior to the program and was forced to just clap for the participants. That’s why the announcement came with a lot of applause. But then how could my bad luck lose its streak. I was again diagnosed to have a weak ligament in my left leg because of that accident which I met 1 month back. So the Doctor had advised me not to put extra pressure on my left leg. What a mess?

I was in no mood to lose upon this opportunity of showing my other talent. I just gave my name for the dance performance. And there were protests from my peers and family. They rebuked me severely for not taking Docs advice seriously. It was really a difficult task to convince them that I wont hurt myself. Somehow, I finally got their consent and tightened the belts to get rolling for a superb performance. The fun was not only to rock the cultural event but also to break the monotony of tightly scheduled classes. The perspiration of the hardcore practice sessions for the dance would dampen my enthusiasm but the response from the onlookers would fill me with a new zeal to get up and rock to the tune. My friends gave me good feedbacks and I carried on.

The atmosphere of the cultural extravaganza gripped the college and created great fuss. Everybody looked to be involved and even the faculty members enjoyed the practice sessions. The event is to take place on 10th and 11th April. But the memories of organized efforts and participation would ever boost my zeal to put my best in every event I get to see further. This adventure at PROTON has certainly become an unforgettable experience for me.
